Message Board

Lomond is keen to maintain contact with all those who have had a connection with the school in the past and who may want to have a connection with the school in the future. The school has recently re-launched the association for Former pupils to extend to former parents and indeed former teachers.

The new organisation is called The Lomond School Association. Membership is free and open to all who have attended Larchfield, St Brides or Lomond Schools. It is also open to former teachers and parents.  The main communication vehicle for this organisation in its infancy will be a group on the social networking site Facebook. To join Facebook simply register at www.facebook.com. Once registered search for the Lomond School Association and apply to join. Via this site you will receive information about planned activities and hopefully be able to catch up with class mates. Eventually the aim of the Association will be to translate the membership of the Facebook group into a proper stand alone web presence.

The LSA will be responsible for organising reunions, sports fixtures and other events. Please use the email address lomondfriends@lomond-school.org to contact the Secretary, Calum Sweeney.

Email Symbol Hello to everyone who was at Lomond from 1978-89! Have had quite a strange and varied career over the past 18 years! Studied History of Art and Human Resources (not together), and have worked in various hotels, as a bus tour guide in Edinburgh, an art restorer/conservator, in HR admin and latterly as a Business Improvement Project Manager. Have lived in Mull, Glasgow, Onich, Balmoral, Edinburgh, Bradford, Hamilton and now back in Edinburgh! Married nearly 9 years ago and have 2 sons – Callum, 7 and Aidan, 5. Decided to leave the rat race and we opened a B&B in July this year. Not exactly what I thought I'd be doing when I left school - but am loving the independence! Still in very close contact with Morna Hogg (now Russell) and occasionally with Lisa Mackay (now a resident of New Zealand!). If anyone wishes a holiday in Edinburgh at special rates (just mention Lomond School when booking) - please visit www.ardbrae.com. Ciao!

Email Symbol Living in Glasgow, librarian at one school 1000. Still visit H'burgh to see my father. Left school in early 80's with dreams of cooking (did and very hard work). Hear from Heather Lawson and Fay McKechnie + Mrs Catterson (now in France). I remember well how Landsdown was Colditz...the names Fiona Kemp, Rachel Sloan, Vanora etc bring a smile to my face many a time.
